Oberstleutnant Eduard Hauser (saluting in the middle, Kommandeur Panzer-Regiment 18) in Milowitz, Czechoslovakia, 1941. Hauser being given command of the 18th Panzer Regiment in November 1940. His new command was part of the newly formed 18. Panzer-Division and went on to participate in Operation Barbarossa the following year and the subsequent battles along the centre of the Eastern Front. Hauser would received the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on 4 December 1941 as Oberst and Kommandeur of Panzer-Regiment 25 / 7.Panzer-Division.Source :
