Alfred Hartmann in Color


Alfred Hartmann (11 March 1914 - 19 September 1943) received the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on 12 March 1943 as Feldwebel and Zugführer in 11.Kompanie / III.Bataillon / Grenadier-Regiment 337 / 208.Infanterie-Division. On 1 September 1943 he was reported MIA (missing in action) in the region of Orel-Stadt/Bogoroditzkoje Orlowska/Ljed- na/Nikolsskoje/Orlitza Fluss/Rybnitza, and was declared dead on 19 September 1943. Hartmann was buried at Kriegsgräberstätte Kursk-Besedino, as one of the 6.700 unknown soldiers.
