Erwin Rommel and Erwin Menny

General der Panzertruppe Erwin Rommel (Kommandierender General Deutsches Afrikakorps) directs the movements of his force with Oberst Erwin Menny (Kommandeur 15.Schützen-Brigade / 15.Panzer-Division) in North Africa. The picture was taken before Menny received the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes (26 December 1941).

Erwin Menny with His Staff Officers

Generalleutnant Erwin Menny (right, Kommandeur 84. Infanterie-Division) with his staff officers inside a car with maps. The 84th Infantry Division, under 15th Army and Army Group B between May and July 1944, was used as part of the German defense against the Allied Operation Overlord, which began on 6 June 1944, beginning on 29 July. and was destroyed in the Falaise Pocket on 20 August 1944. General Menny himself was captured and became a POW until the end of the war. He received the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes previously on 26 December 1941 as Oberst and Kommandeur 15.Schützen-Brigade / 15.Panzer-Division. This picture was taken in France in the summer of 1944 by Kriegsberichter Koll of PK KBZ Ob West (Propaganda-Kompanie Kriegsberichter-Zug Oberbefehlshaber West).
