Otto Ude Groupings


From Andreas Thies auction : Oberwachtmeister (later Oberleutnant) Otto Ude was awarded the Knight's Cross on 15 January 1941 for his services as Oberwachtmeister in the battles near Pustynja/Russia. A comprehensive report on the course of the battle is enclosed.

Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. Iron core with silver frame. An example of the Steinhauer & Lück production (A - type). Silver stamp on the reverse, so-called micro "800". Jump ring added after 1945. On the sewn collar section. Iron core with defects on both sides and repainted in places. Much worn original example with history ("combat wear").Provisional certificate of possession of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross dated 15.1.1943 to Oberwachtmeister Ude , 1st / Radf. Dept. 30.The provisional certificate of possession is dated 16 January 1943 with the original signature of Major General Rudolf Schmundt and the official seal of the Army Personnel Office.Comes with a letter of congratulations from the mayor of Einbeck (30 January 1943) and the mayor of Hanover (12 February 1943).Bronze melee clasp, fine zinc finish with magnetic plate. On pin. Manufacturer's mark of the company FFL (Friedrich Linden Lüdenscheid) and the usual Peekhaus inscription on the reverse. Comes with certificate of possession for the 1st level of the Nahkampfspange dated 7 August 1943, with original signature of the division commander.Golden wounded badge (denazified). Non-ferrous metal version, gold-plated, on pin. Manufacturer's mark "30" of the Vienna Main Mint on the reverse. Hollow embossed non-ferrous metal design, silver-plated. On a round pin. Pin hook broken off. Comes with a certificate of ownership for the assault badge dated 10 October 1941, with original signature of the commander of the 30th Division, Lieutenant General v.
