 Generalfeldmarschall Erwin Rommel (Oberbefehlshaber Heeresgruppe B und Generalinspekteur der Küstenbefestigungen West) speaks in front of the members of 179. Reserve-Panzer-Division. These soldiers probably in the middle of a gas prevention training, judging from their gas-mask in use. Standing at far right is Generalleutnant Walter von Boltenstern (Kommandeur 179. Reserve-Panzer-Division). Rommel was visiting and inspecting the 179. Reserve-Panzer-Division on Tuesday, 25 January 1944, as the Division was on full strength. After that Rommel was observing an excercise of the Reserve-Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 1 in Titinac, France.
