Günther von Kluge just arrived with the small Fieseler Fi 156 "Torch" transport plane. He received the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on 30 September 1939 as General der Artillerie and Oberbefehlshaber 4.Armee; Eichenlaub on 18 January 1943 as Generalfeldmarschall and Oberbefehlshaber Heeresgruppe Mitte; and Schwertern on 30 March 1944 as Generalfeldmarschall and Oberbefehlshaber Heeresgruppe Mitte.
