Generalmajor Walther von Seydlitz-Kurzbach (left, Kommandeur 12. Infanterie-Division) and Oberst Kurt-Jürgen Freiherr von Lützow (Kommandeur Infanterie-Regiment 89 / 12.Infanterie-Division). The picture was probably taken during Unternehmen Barbarossa, 1941, when the division became a part of 16.Armee / Heeresgruppe Nord. It took part in the capture of Latvian city of Daugavpils, sweeping north-eastward to Leningrad where it was finally stopped in its tracks during the siege effort.
