Max Wünsche, Fritz Witt and Kurt Meyer

It can be said that this is the last photo of Divisionskommandeur Witt, because on June 14, 1944, he was killed instantly by shrapnel from a cannon fired by British ships off the coast of Normandy. As his replacement, SS-Standartenführer Meyer was appointed. At the age of 33, Meyer was recorded as the youngest division commander in the entire Wehrmacht!
