Surrender of Korps Ems

Surrender of Korps Ems, 5 May 1945: German officers from Korps Ems arrive at the HQ of British 51st Division to be given terms of surrender. General der Infanterie Siegfried Rasp (Kommandierender General Korps Ems) sits flanked by his staff officers with his German interpreter standing behind. Sitting at right is Lieutenant-General Brian Horrocks (General Officer Commanding XXX Corps). The Korps Ems was also known as XXXI Armeekorps z.b.V. and existed only during the last months of the war. Its area of operations is in North-western. The units under the Corps: 15. Panzergrenadier-Division, Divisionsstab z.b.V. 172, Division Nr. 480, 2. Marine-Infanterie-Division, and Kampfkommandant Bremen.
