From left to right: Oberst Gottfried Frölich (Kommandeur Panzer-Artillerie-Regiment 78 / 7.Panzer-Division) and Generaloberst Hermann Hoth (Befehlshaber Panzergruppe 3). The picture was taken in the summer of 1941 during the opening phase of Operation Barbarossa. Hoth is wearing the Ritterkreuz that he received on 27 October 1939. He would receive the additional Eichenlaub and Schwerter on 17 July 1941 and 15 September 1943 respectively. On the other hand, Frölich would also receive the Ritterkreuz on 20 December 1943 as Führer of 8. Panzer-Division.Source :
