General der Infanterie Eugen Ritter von Schobert (Kommandierender General VII. Armeekorps) on a visit to the Sudetenland, shortly after this part of Czechoslovak were occupied by German troops without a fight, in October 1938. Later he would be killed on the Eastern Front when the light plane Fieseler Storch he was traveling in landed on a Soviet minefield on September 12, 1941. His last rank was Generaloberst.
