Bruno Stolle received the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on 17 March 1943 as Hauptmann and Staffelkapitän 8.Staffel / IV.Gruppe / Jagdgeschwader 2 "Richthofen" after achieving 29 aerial victories along the channel coastline. He also demonstrated considerable devotion to duty in engagements against English anti-submarine vessels.
