Léon Degrelle Speech in Brussels (1943)

The Belgian fascist leader Oberleutnant der Reserve Léon Degrelle of Legion Wallonie gave a speech in Brussels, the Belgian capital, on 27 June 1943. In the podium he mentions Croats, in the context of the fight against Bolshevism and the "united Europe of nations". It should be noted that Degrelle valued Croats as fighters and remained friends with Croatia and Croatian political emigrants until his death in Spain in 1994. In his pamphlet Appel aux jeunes européens, published in August 1992, he condemned the Greater Serbia aggression against Croatia and the persecution of Muslims and Catholics by the JNA and communist forces.
