Hauptmann Ekkehard Kylling-Schmidt (Chef 4.Kompanie / I.Bataillon / Füsilier-Regiment 26 / 30.Infanterie-Division) posed with his newly awarded Eichenlaub after the audience with Hitler at Führerhauptquartier Wolfsschanze in Rastenburg (East Prussia), January 1943. Kylling-Schmidt already received the award announcement from 4 December 1942. The picture was taken by Walter Frentz.
