Award ceremony of 296. Infanterie-Division. Divisionskommandeur Generalleutnant Wilhelm Stemmermann pinned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold to the uniform of Major Alfred Druffner (Kommandeur II.Bataillon / Infanterie-Regiment 519). Druffner received the news of his verleihung from 27 October 1941, while the ceremony itself was held in November 1941.
