Ritterkreuz Award Ceremony of Wolf-Werner Graf von der Schulenburg

Ritterkreuz award ceremony for Major Wolf-Werner Graf von der Schulenburg (Kommandeur I.Bataillon / Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 1 / 1.Fallschirmjäger-Division), which were held at Avignon, Southeastern France, on 20 June 1943. Generalmajor Richard Heidrich (Kommandeur 1. Fallschirmjäger-Division) decorated the Major in front of the battalion. The medal was awarded because of Schulenburg battalion's efforts in unison with the 78. Sturm-Division during the fighting near Orel. The picture was taken by Bildberichter Dahm from XI. Fliegerkorps Propaganda-Kompanie and were first published on 6 July 1943.
