From left to right: Hauptmann Bruno Bogert (Kommandeur Sicherungs-Bataillon 670) and Generalleutnant Walter Scheller (Kommandant Festung Brest-Litowsk). As can be seen from this picture, they were both Ritterkreuzträger (Knight's Cross recipients): Bogert received it on 21 April 1944, while Scheller received it on 3 April 1943. Not long after this picture was taken, Scheller would be killed on 21 July 1944 in the fighting for the city during the Soviet Lublin–Brest Offensive.
