Major der Reserve Johannes Grimminger

A nice portrait of Johannes Grimminger as an Oberleutnant der Reserve before he received Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes (23 August 1944 as Hauptmann der Reserve and Führer Panzergrenadier-Feld-Ersatz-Bataillon 25 / 25.Panzergrenadier-Division). In this picture he spotted the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold in his uniform, which he received in 29 January 1942.

Major Johannes Grimminger, an infantry Eichenlaubträger, fought in 25. Panzergrenadier-division and later as a commander of Panzergrenadir-regiment 192 / 21.Panzer-Division. In this picture, Major Grimminger is on the right with his Ritterkreuz. The other Ritterkreuzträger is Hauptmann Martin Lenz, commander of II.Bataillon. According to Mr. Kitamura, this picture was probably taken in March 1945, just before he was awarded with an Eichenlaub and after Lenz received his Ritterkreuz (January 1945).
