Generalleutnant Walther Graeßner (left) in the Eastern Front. He finally reached the rank of General der Infanterie. He served with Division 187, 298. Infanterie-Division and 7. Armeekorps. Graeßner received the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes (Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross) on 27 October 1941 as Generalleutnant and commander of 298. Infanterie-Division.
